This Visa is for people who have dwelled and have worked in particular areas of regional Australia, on a previous, eligible visa.

 

This visa permits you

• Entitled to enrol in a study course or do the job anywhere in Australia
• sponsor your relatives to come to Australia
• Travel inside or outside Australia for 5 years. In case you want to travel after the initial 5 year’s travel facility.
• You will have to apply for and be granted a Resident-Return (RRV) to re-enter Australia as a permanent resident.
• Sponsor eligible relatives to come to Australia.
• Eligibility to apply for Australian citizenship.
• Newly arrived dwellers may have to wait to access certain Australian Government payments and benefits.
• stay in Australia permanently

Duration of Stay: –

1. As it is a permanent visa, you can stay for an indefinite time.
2. Your permanent residence starts on the day
3. of the grant of the visa for citizenship, if inshore.
4. Applicant enters Australia on this visa, if offshore.

Family: –

•  Family members can be added to the application too if they currently hold an eligible visa.
• Family members must be included at the time of lodge of your application
• They can be added after you lodge the application, but not after submission on your visa.
• Family members, applying for the visa must qualify health and character requirements of the Australian Government.
• Family members, even if not migrating to Australia, might also have to qualify for health and character requirements.
• Those Family members, who no longer meet the standard definition of a member of the family unit, can also be included in the application, provided they hold an eligible visa that was granted on the basis that they were a member of your family unit.

Child

If you have a child who was born either in or outside Australia since you were granted your current visa you must inform your child before lodging the application.

Cost

• For the main applicant, the visa costs AUD415
  • Additional charges are there for other family applicants applying
• Second Installment: – Family members having age 18 years or above need to pay Second Installment, those who:
• Applies with the applicant for this visa.
• Has less than Functional English.
• Pay the second instalment only when asked to. It is charged only if a visa is going to be granted.
• Other costs include are those of health checks, police certificates and biometrics.
• The second instalment charge for family members is AUD4,890.

My Eligibility Criteria: – 

• hold an eligible visa or have held an eligible visa that expired outside Australia during the concession period
• have lived for at least 2 years and worked full time for at least 1 year in a specified regional area unless COVID-19 concessions apply
• have complied with the conditions of the eligible visa you hold or have held
• Applicants of age 18 or above need to have Functional English, otherwise, you will have to pay an extra charge, called the second instalment for this visa to be granted. Or pay the second instalment of the visa application charge when asked.

     Obligations: You and your family members must obey all Australian laws.

1. Applicant must meet the Health and Character needs
2. Family members, applying for the visa must qualify health and character requirements of the Australian Government.
3. Australian Values Statement: – You must sign the Australian values statement, which assures that you will abide by all Australian laws and will respect their way of living.
4. Have paid Outstanding debt (if any) to the Australian Government: –If the applicant or any family member of the applicant owes any debt to the Australian Government, it must be paid back

 

Places to Apply From: –

• You must be inside Australia for the visa to be granted, if you lodged your application before 19 September 2020 apply.
• Applicant can be in or outside Australia, but not in immigration clearance during the decision of the visa, if you lodged your application on or after 19 September 2020.

Processing time

75% of applications: 10 months

90% of applications: 15 month

• Currently, applications submitted before September 2020 are being assessed.
• Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
• Processing time depends on individual situations.
• Also, applications can’t be processed if correct visa application charges are not paid.

Factors that can affect the processing time of your application include:

• whether you have given a complete application, including all the supporting documents
• how speedily you respond when we ask for more information or documents
• the time it takes to check the information you have provided.
• the time it takes for information from other agencies, usually for character and national security requirements
• Availability of a number of places in the migration program
• Applications might take a longer time to process
• If not filled correctly.
• All documents are not provided.

Not be eligible: –

1. In the case of a Previous Cancelled Visa.

Conditions for Skilled Regional Visa (Subclass 887)

There are no conditions attached to a Skilled Regional visa (Subclass 887).
