Australia will review its migration programs afresh in a new parliamentary inquiry. The review will be chaired by the Joint Migration Committee of the Federal Parliament. The Joint Migration Committee looks at visa laws and Australia’s detention centers. The new inquiry will also cover pressures caused by population growth and infrastructure concerns.

This concern arose after a report was released by Infrastructure Australia. The report states that Australia is required to spend at least $ 200 billion on infrastructure projects every five years. This is the only way to cope with rapid population growth.

The report said that a wave of investment is needed to ensure public transport and roads. Construction of more schools and electricity, water and health to help economic productivity and improve quality of life.

However, Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the report uses data before the 2019-20 budget. In the last budget, the government announced infrastructure projects worth $ 23 billion according to 7 News. Among them, 160 of these projects will focus on demolishing Australia’s major cities.

The Australian Government has also committed $ 100 billion towards infrastructure over the next decade. If you want to apply for an Australia Permanent Resident Visa, join Aptech Global’s Visa and Immigration Specialists. Soon one of the experts will contact you to discuss the PR query.
